CHRISTMAS 2008

This just might qualify as the longest post ever. So here's to summing up the Cazier Christmas Holidays!
We had Family Home Evening and did the nativity with the Bailey cousins. This picture is priceless to me of Savannah, Matt and Bailee. I pray that this Christmas season and throughout the year we remember Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Luke 2:7 "And she brought forth her first born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger: because there was no room for them in the inn."

For kids night Santa came to the fire station. They always look forward to kids night but I think Santa coming is going to be listed as one of their favorites.

Our cute niece, Paige, was loving the icing when we made gingerbread houses. It really tastes a lot like glue to me but she sure enjoyed it.

Dan's sister, Anje, and her fam and my 2 brothers, Kris and Robert, and their families came into town for Christmas. Since all of our other sibling live here we had everyone in town. Christmas Eve brought on a whole slew of activities, the guys went golfing, the Bailey girls played with the kids and Dan and I invited Anje over to make gingerbread houses with us. This is the first year that we did our own Christmas Eve dinner. So we played all day with cousins but then did our own thing at home for the evening. I was so excited to start some of our own traditions with our kids. We had a yummy dinner, opened Jammie's and drove to the temple to see the Christmas lights. After the temple we drove around town pointing out our favorite lighted houses and singing Christmas carols. It was a great night.

I snuck in a picture after Santa came...I don't think he caught me.

So we gave the kids these flutes to wake us up in the morning. We told them to start blowing them when they woke up and we would come to the top of the stairs to get them. The only rule was that they couldn't start blowing them until 6 a.m. At 6:01 exactly they started blowing their flutes. They said they had been watching the clock since 5:00 a.m.

CHRISTMAS DINNER AND GAME NIGHT
This is the best picture of Kris during our white elephant game (I couldn't get it to rotate for me, sorry).

The rest of the week was a little something like this...games, eating, playing in the snow, eating, family time, eating, guys mountain biking, eating, eating , eating!!!! It was a great weekend with a lot of great people.

I am truly grateful for my family and for Dans family and for the time we got to spend with them all.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

COOKIES AT GRANDMA'S

Yesterday we had a fun day at Grandma Bailey's. The kids painted crafts, decorated cookies and made Christmas tree rice krispy treats. Hmmm, days like this make me realize why it's so hard to loose all those extra pounds I have packed on. Grandma's are the best though. The kids had so much fun, they love all the time they get to spend with their cousins. I love living so close to family. I'm also so glad my mom's so willing to have such BIG MESSES made at her house for the kids to have such fun times together, it's all about making memories, right.
Josh has come down with a horrible cough and sore throat, I'm crossing my fingers the other kids don't get it. I love this time of year but I don't love all of the colds and sniffly noses that get passed around.

CHRISTMAS HAPPENINGS AND 1 UNWANTED VISITOR

Fred the Elf has finally made it to our house! Fred is Santa's helper. Santa sends him to our house every December to keep an eye on the Cazier kids. We feed him crackers and cookies and Fred flys home to the North Pole every night to report to Santa, are we on the naughty or nice list?? Every morning Fred is in a new spot so it ends up being a mad race to see who can find him first. The kids were so excited when he 'finally' showed up we were starting to wonder if he was LOST but thank goodness he made it.

It was our ward party on Friday night. There was great food and a great turn out. Santa and Mrs. Claus came which was the biggest hit of all. The kids were on a sugar high, but what would be a ward party without a little extra sugar in the diet?

My unwanted guest, EEEKKKKKKK!!!
So I was busy doing my vacuuming a few days ago when I walked up the stairs and just about stepped right on THIS, a big ol' fat lizard, in my house!!! In normal situations (like outdoors) lizards are not something that gets me jumping but on my stairs is a whole other story. You could say I was completely freaking out. Of course it was during the day so Josh wasn't even home to catch it for me, Dan was on the other side of town working and sad to say Spence was just as freaked as me. After debating my options like leaving the house for the day... which wouldn't work cuz then it would probably end up in my bed. I thought about vacuuming it up, I did have the vacuum in my hand (I know that's mean but hey I was desperate and it was just a thought). It must have known my thoughts cuz just then it started jumping down my stairs, freaking out doesn't even cover my reaction at this point. The monster stopped at the bottom of the stairs so I quickly ran to the kitchen and grabbed a strainer and threw it over the monster and that is where it stayed until Dan made it home to take it out. Of course Dan thinks I'm a big wimp and I'm fine with him thinking that as long as he wants too.

Happy Thanksgiving

My sweet Pilgrim. The 1st graders put on a cute Thanksgiving program. They did a great job and she sure made a darling Pilgrim.

I know that this pic is random but this is what I kept getting a picture of because the lady in front of me kept standing up every time I got ready to snap a pic of Savannah. You gotta love it.

My little Christmas elves doing the decorating for me. We actually got the tree out and decorated it on Monday for FHE but I've restrained myself in posting the pics of it until after Thanksgiving. I didn't want any of you to think I was crazy, well those who know me know that I'm crazy but I like to keep others in the dark. I do love getting the Christmas decorations out. I still remember when I was in High School my sister Sheri and I used to break out the Christmas decorations the day after Halloween. We'd wait until my mom left to run errands then we'd get to work. We would have the whole house decked out by the time she made it home, Christmas music blaring and all. Of coarse she would always make us take it down but it was sure fun for the few hours it was up. Good times. I have to say my Mom is an angel for putting up with all of the things we put her through.

The finished product. The kids did a great job decorating the tree. Shockingly nothing got broke either. Of course after they went to bed I had to rearrange a few things so that not all of the decorations were on the bottom half of the tree.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY 2 FRONT TEETH...
Well after months of Savannah waiting, wanting and wishing to lose a tooth it has finally happened and to top it off she lost 2 in two days. Yep, the Tooth Fairy got to come to our house 2 nights in a row. It is so dang cute, she just can't stop smiling (her toothless smile) about it.

FLAG FOOTBALL
Yesterday was Josh's last football game. They only lost 1 game and by only 1 point. They made it to the playoffs but lost in the semifinal game. He had such a great time this year and has become a great player. He is so fast. We had the best time watching him and his team. GGGGOOOOOOOO JOSH!!!!

CRAZY OCTOBER

October brought another CRAZY month. We've had a ton of fun with all the activities going on. I don't think life is going to slow down any time in the near future but that's o.k. we just might get bored if it did.
Josh and Savannah's school had CRAZY HAIR DAY, Josh wanted me to shave his head in 3 Mohawks, I finally convinced him that we didn't want to do something so 'permanent' and he settled for spiky orange hair. We had fun doing Savannah's hair in a spider web. My kids wish that it would be crazy hair day every week.

We had a Halloween party at my mom's house for the kids. My mom is so fun with them. She let the kids help make doughnuts, decorate pumpkins and make Oreo jack-o-lanterns. I was so ill from eating way too many yummies. The kids had a blast as usual.
MY SUPERMAN!!!

HALLOWEEN!! WE LOVE HALLOWEEN! We are still on a sugar high from Friday. The kids filled their bags, wore their selves out, and wore me out. After trick or treating our neighborhood had a block party. It was so much fun. We closed off one of the streets and had chili, bread sticks, cake walk, cat walk (to show off all the cute costumes) and a costume contest. I honestly think the kids had more fun at the party than they did trick or treating.

After a long night Savannah just wanted to fall asleep on Grandma.
